Halloween Party: October 31st, 2005
-
The Friends of the Library hosted their annual Halloween Party, at Haynes Library from 6pm till 8pm.
-
The Library had been decorated by the children at the Arts & Crafts programme on Saturday, with assistance from Althea Willie, the Children's Librarian and Missy Kennedy-Adams. The main floor of the Library was transformed into a Haunted House, tricked out with ghosts, bats, spider webs and flying witches and looked its scariest best.
-
The children were dressed in a wide variety of costumes, from gangsta rappers and headless apparitions to corpse brides and pirates. Face painting was, as usual, on offer to transform the unadorned into scary clowns and vampires. The "Best Costume Contest" was held at 7pm with all the children parading past the judges, hoping to impress them with their creepy costumes.
-
The Best Costume for girls went to Michelle Willie for her interpretation of the Wicked Witch of the West and Best Costume for boys went to Simeon Bethel, as Long John Silver. A big hand to the judges Mark and Kathy Berner.
-
The children were then treated to mountains of candies and treats, kindly donated by members of the community and the Friends of the Library including Kendra Gibson, Rhonda Rolle, Arnette Cherie, Delores Thompson, Laniece Thompson, Calae Burrows, Annie Culmer, Andre Butler, Elizabeth Rodgers, Elisa Pyfrom, Donna Allen, Sophia Coeffic, Susan Knowles, Gail Griffin, Joyce Pinder and Isabel Bertela.
